On the 23rd-25th of January, we will hold open
auditions for the Shakespearean comedy play called The Two Gentlemen of
Verona. The play is about two gentlemen, one of which wants to go
to Verona and tells his friend to come with him. The other man says that he does
not want to go to Verona. The one who does not go has a girlfriend, and the other
does not. The man who goes to Verona falls in love with a beautiful girl. The
other man who did not go decides to go and falls in love with the same girl as
his friend, and then his girlfriend dresses up like a boy and follows him.
This
sounds like a fun play to be a part of. I will definitely be auditioning for
this play. The audition process starts on the 23rd and will end on the 25th; 3:30 - 5:00 PM on the K-8
stage.
There will be eight
performances. Closing night will be March 11. Auditions are open to all
students in grades 6-9. Experience or training in acting is not required, but it
is a plus. Come prepared to read from the script with other actors.If you are
cast, you will need to be available every day after school until
approximately 6:00 PM. During the last two weeks, you will need to be available
until about 9:00 PM.
NOTE: The play conflicts with basketball,
archery, and soccer. You must have
current AND first semester grades of at least C- in
all of your classes to be cast. If you
